Security guards posted at Ikeda elementary school

OSAKA, Japan - A security guard stands in front of the gate of the state-run Ikeda Elementary School in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, on June 11. A total of five security guards were posted at the four gates of the school compound, where the Ikeda junior and senior high schools are also located. Eight elementary school children were stabbed to death and 15 others were wounded on June 8 when a man stormed into the school, attached to the state-run Osaka Kyoiku University, and attacked them with a kitchen knife.

The Chokugaku-mon Gate of Yusho-in Reibyo, Zojoji Temple, Shiba

The tomb of the Seventh Shogun Ietsugu which was located to the north of Bunshoin. The Chokugaku Gate had bronze roof tiles and was cornered with Chinese-style bargeboards, and the sides have Chinese-style gates with four legs in chidori bargeboards. Dragon carvings can be observed on the pillars. An unusual rock,Mt. Myogi

Mt. Myogi, one of the three mountains of Kamige, is famous for its mysterious rock formations. Today it is a national park. This rock formation is called Daiichi-Sekimon (First Stone Gate) and can be viewed from the car window even today. Probably one of the four stone gates in the form of torii in Kondosan (also called Nakanodake), the peak of Myogisan famous for rocks with peculiar shapes. It was formed by the remains of tuff components weathered and washed by rain, leaving only the hard rock cores.
